International Collector’s Society of rare Items was formed as Collectors Club in 1995, with only seven members. The Society has come a long way from 7 to more than 100+ Life-Members, 4 Patrons, 2 Fellows and a number of Associate
Members in the past 11 years.
 
Our members hail from all age-groups, layers and cadres of our society and prove that hobbies of any type have no bar. The Society has a pride collection of having twenty two of its members adorning the coveted LIMCA RECORD and our past President-a GUINESS RECORD.
 
Our members, having a treasure of different collections, ranging from Pencils, Pens, Nibs, Ball-Pens, Cassettes, LP/EP Gramophone records, Tape-recorders, Wrist-Watches, all types of clocks, Aero-plane Models, Miniature Railways, Ships, Playing Cards, Telephone Cards, Picture-Post Cards, Postal Stationary, Stamps, Revenue Stamps, Stamp Papers, Coins, Paper Currency, Medals, Stones, Minerals, Gem-Stones, Bottles, Perfume Bottles, Wine Bottles, Plants, Seeds, Autographed pictures of famous personalities, Signatures, Crockery , Recipes, Bangles, Dolls, Caps, Video-Tapes, Wrappers, Greeting Cards, Wedding Cards, Keys, Key-Chains, Chocolate-wrappers, Cigarette-packets, cinema -Bus-Air-Railway Tickets, Old-Documents, Artifacts, Maps, Pins, Lapel-Pins, Olympic Collections, Match-Box Labels, Match-Boxes, Fossils, Drift-Wood are just to name a few.
 
The society is relentlessly working in the field of preserving our heritage and culture for the past eleven years through organizing different exhibitions, competitions of local, state and national level. All the exhibitions held till the date were displayed free for all.
The Society organises Numismatic competitive exhibition every alternate year since 2002, which attracts eminent numismatists from all over India. Our previous two exhibitions were a grand success; through the number, of participants displaying their valued collection, through our souvenirs, which have articles from eminent and noted numismatists from all across the country. These articles are now referred to, as references for the various lectures, work-shops and projects.
 
In a step forward, from the last numismatic exhibition, held in 2004, we are having Todywallas Auction-who conduct auctions of various items, in connection with the numismatic field. We sincerely hope that this step will keep and preserve our heritage through these collections, in India.
 
In accordance with the society’s motto KNOWLEDGE THROGH HOBBIES, and to encourage the hobby of collection, specially the younger generation, the Society has conducted 32 Different Exhibitions in the past 11 years. Worth mentioning are: Displayed Dinosaur Egg for the first time, Displayed an almost complete history on Indian Paper Money, Displayed Shivaji Maharaj’s GOLD HON for the first time in India, Displayed a full scale Natural History Exhibition, Displayed for the first time in India, a unique collection of rare minerals on Earth. All our exhibitions are displayed without charging anything to the viewers, and have received praises from all segments of the society.
 
The Society is very keen in taking the utmost care while exhibiting any collection, that we are passing on the detailed and correct information of the exhibited subject, which must help to enhance the knowledge of the viewer.
 
Our Society has received a huge & wide publicity through news paper media, as well as from ETV Marathi by telecasting 20 episodes in 2003-2004 and we presume it as a token receipt of our work in this field.
 
The Society has published books on Coin-Collection, history of Indian Paper Money and Natural History on Indian stamps and Reference Guide to Maratha Coins in Pune Region.
 

Our Aims & Future Plans

  • The Society intends to have a permanent Museum in Pune.
  • The Society intends to start Young Collectors Club in Schools.
  • The Society is keen on publishing at least  1 Book per year at an affordable price.
  •  To Organise at least 2 exhibitions per year on different subjects.
